Their innovative multi-currency account allows clients to hold and manage funds in 39 currencies, offering flexibility, speed, and peace of mind. As DT&T grows its client base, the company seeks to empower users with seamless, cost-effective transactions and reliable customer support, all underpinned by cutting-edge security features.
To enhance the client experience and strengthen its brand identity, DT&T set out to launch a branded payment card that would complement its platform. This card design needed to reflect DT&T’s values of quality, reliability, and ease of use, while also standing out in a highly competitive market. For this crucial project, DT&T partnered with allpay cards, a trusted leader in bespoke plastic card solutions, known for their high standards of quality, precision, and service.
The Challenge
As DT&T prepared to launch its new card offering to align with its multi-currency account platform, it required a card solution that would not only meet functional needs but also reflect its brand’s identity as a leader in secure and premium financial services. They wanted a card design that would stand out in a competitive market—one that looked visually striking, exuded sophistication, and reinforced DT&T’s commitment to quality and transparency. Additionally, DT&T aimed to balance premium packaging options with cost-effectiveness, ultimately needing a solution that felt exclusive without excessive expenditure.
The Solution
In February 2023, allpay cards collaborated closely with DT&T to bring their vision to life. The project began with an initial consultation, where allpay cards’ designers showcased visualiser videos of multiple card design options in varying colours and effects, allowing DT&T to visualise and critique each concept. After careful review, DT&T refined their design choices, leaning toward a colour scheme of black, blue, and purple, and requested further enhancements to ensure the cards would truly stand out.
To achieve DT&T’s desired premium aesthetic, allpay cards proposed tactile gloss effects over expanding circles around the logo and the Mastercard Secure Symbol, adding a tangible texture to the cards. Recognising DT&T’s need for a physical preview before final approval, allpay cards produced physical proofs of each card variant, complete with chips and dummy personalisation. This step provided a crucial opportunity for DT&T to fully experience the final look and feel of each design option.
Further enhancing the card’s visual appeal, allpay cards recommended an all-over pearlescent finish, giving the blue card an eye-catching sparkle and adding a distinctive
touch to the design. This bespoke finish gave the card a truly unique visual impact, aligning with DT&T’s brand image of reliability and exclusivity.
For packaging, DT&T initially considered a highly bespoke option but eventually decided on a balance between premium quality and cost-effectiveness. allpay cards provided an innovative solution: a premium, yet cost-effective, fulfilment option that included tactile expanding circles on the carrier to create a cohesive and high-quality unboxing experience.
The Result
The collaboration between allpay cards and DT&T resulted in a stunning, high-quality payment card that exceeded expectations in both form and function. The finalised blue card design, with its pearlescent effect and tactile gloss elements, successfully reinforced DT&T’s brand presence and offered a premium experience to its clients. By incorporating bespoke yet cost-effective packaging, DT&T could deliver a luxurious product without overstepping budget constraints.
The new DT&T cards have been well received by clients, enhancing DT&T’s brand image and setting them apart from competitors. This project exemplifies allpay cards’ ability to balance innovation, customisation, and cost-effectiveness, bringing DT&T’s vision to life with precision and style.
