We are delighted to announce that allpay’s leading Direct Payments prepaid programme for social care users has been shortlisted for Best Corporate/Government Loaded Payments Programme at this year’s Emerging Payment Awards.

The awards recognise the best the payments industry has to offer with over 200 companies from across the globe entering last year.

Following the successful launch of our instant issue prepaid programme for local authorities in 2013, allpay’s Prepaid team launched its Direct Payments programme in early 2016 both designed and manufactured onsite at our Herefordshire Head Office.

The programme provides local authorities with an Organisation Portal to load, manage, control and monitor spend in real time and service users with a Cardholder Portal to make payments and view transactions.

Additionally, the card provides service users with an account number and sort code, allowing them to make – if assessed as needing to – their own contributions to their account via a standing order and payments out to payees and businesses via recurring payments and direct debits.

A total of 120,840 Transactions have already been made on these cards with value of annual loads estimated at £34m. 12 local authorities are already taken advantage of the scheme with 3,342 cardholders on the programme, set to increase by 134% within the next 12 months, with load values exceeding £104 million.
